Santa Cruz Valley Car Nuts 18th Annual Collector Car Show
The absolutely beautiful Arizona winter weather allowed us to showcase 15 Chaparral Section Mercedes-Benz vehicles registered for the show, HBZSEL28plus 3 additional registrations for the Mercedes-Benz Class #20. The layout of the parking area allowed ONLY Mercedes-Benz vehicles to be parked in the row which actually helped to showcase the immaculately prepared cars. The only way to top off the detailed preparations and the great support from the show organizers would be for one of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles to be selected “Best of Show”. Read more > |

The Santa Cruz Valley Car Nuts Annual Collector Car Show
was held on January 28, 2012 on the golf course at the Tubac Golf
Resort in Tubac, AZ. This year marked the 4th consecutive year that
the Chaparral Section has participated in the show, and the presence
of the Mercedes-Benz marque was definitely felt by the huge crowd of
spectators and the approximately 500 participants.

Chaparral Section's annual Holiday Party at the Mountain Oyster Club
The "entertainment" was a wonderful slide presentation by Joyce Degenhart on her MBCA trip to the MercedesBenz Museum in Stutgart , a visit to the AMG plant in Affalterbach, and the beauty of Germany during October of this year. An additional treat was the presentation of "Club Member of the Year". The Board painstakingly sorted through all members' contributions to the continuing excellence of our events and activities and selected Ron Isler. Ron and his wife Lucy are very active with the Club and can always be counted on to support Club events and activities. Congratulations Ron !

Chaparral Section Annual Sweetheart Member Mixer
|
This year the Chaparral Section Annual Sweetheart Member Mixer will take place on Saturday, February 11th, and feature a drive followed by lunch at the Oracle Inn Steakhouse located at 305 East American Avenue in the town of Oracle. Here are the details: We will start at 11:00 a.m. from the Chase Bank parking lot located at 11,625 N. Oracle Rd. just inside the entrance to the Oro Valley Marketplace. From there we will drive to San Manuel on SR's 77 and 76, swing through the town briefly for those who may not have been there before, and then return to Oracle via Webb Rd. and a paved section of the East Mt. Lemmon Highway, arriving at the restaurant at noon. Maps will be provided at the start. For those not interested in the drive you can simply plan to meet us at the restaurant at noon. On the second weekend of every month the Oracle Inn Steakhouse features some of the finest German cuisine to be found in the Tucson area. We will have a room reserved for our use, and every one can order from the menu with individual checks provided. You can check out their facility and the menu selections on their website, www.oracleinn.com The restaurant would like an approximate head count one week in advance. Thus if you plan to join us for this event please let Fred Finney know by Saturday, February 4th, at the latest, phone at 520-297-2485. Also include whether you will be coming along for the ride as well as lunch so we will know who to expect at the Chase parking lot. Hope to see everybody there! |
