Dine and Drive Wildflower Driving Event - March 17, 2012
On Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 8:30 AM, 10 finely prepared Mercedes-Benz automobiles with 20 Chaparral Section members on-board, met at the Cow Palace Steakhouse and Restaurant in Amado, AZ for a delicious breakfast and lots of friendly discussions. The event for the day was a cruise through the wildflowers along Arivaca Road, the Buenos Aires Wildlife Rufuge and AZ Highway 286. Read more >

Annual Sweetheart Member Mixer- Feb 11, 2012
The event began with Fred Finney, the Section treasurer and coordinator for this event, conducting a driver’s meeting. The 46 mile drive began at the Oro Valley Marketplace and continued north and east for a swing through the town of San Manuel and then continued via a scenic route on the north side of the Santa Catalina mountains back to Oracle.Read more > |
Thirty seven
members, spouses and guests along with 18 cars from the Chaparral
Section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America, gathered on Saturday,
February 11th, for a drive and lunch event at the Oracle Inn
Steakhouse in the high foothills town of Oracle north of Tucson.

Join the Chaparral Section for a joint drive/breakfast event with the Tucson British Car Registry club. The TBCR has stated that the event time and place to meet are to be determined and the route is to be determined. We will end up at Taste of Texas, 8310 N. Thornydale for buffet breakfast. Mark May 5th on your calendar and join us for a MBCA Concours Judging School. National Concours Chief Judge Pete Lessler will be visiting the Desert Stars and will hold a day-long class to show us how to judge the cars we all love. Chuck Stanford Jr. at Concours@StarFest2012.org

We are advising you of the date noted above because our Club has been very active with this car show in the past. This show has always been a fun event usually having over 500 cars that are all parked on grass. Last year, ten of us all met at the shopping center on the North East corner of Craycroft Road and River Road in "Club Row" and caravanned together to St. Gregory Preparatory School, at 3231 N. Craycroft Road, Tucson, AZ. where this show is held. If we have at least ten members enter again this year, we will be provided with a special section with signage like last year. We hope to do the same this year but we need a good turn out from our membership. Read More > |
